GUEST BLOGGER: Summer Entertainment for Kids at The Avenue

Monday, Jun 1, 6:33AM

Summer break will be here before you know it!  As nice as the relaxed schedules are, there is no doubt every parent will hear the dreaded words “I’m bored” at some point.  If you are looking for ways to keep your kids entertained and engaged this summer, look no further than The Avenue!

Craft Classes

Michaels at The Avenue East Cobb has wonderful programs and craft classes for kids.  This summer, they are hosting an imaginary seven-week “road trip” including fun kids’ crafts at each stop!  Classes are offered on multiple days and you can register for as few or as many sessions as you would like.  There are early sign-up specials going on now so be sure to check with your local stores.

Cooking Classes

Did you know that Willliams-Sonoma at The Avenue East Cobb and Peachtree City offers junior chef classes at most locations?!?  Each class is themed and offers young culinary fans hands-on experience preparing an array of dishes. Class sizes are limited, so call for details.

Storytime

Barnes & Noble at The Avenue West Cobb hosts children’s storytime twice a week!  Kids will listen to and get lost in wonderful literary selections being read to them each week.

After some of those fun activities and classes, why not enjoy lunch out at a kid-friendly spot like Atlanta Bread, Panera Bread or Moe’s?  Then grab something to help you keep cool on a hot summer day.  Pop in for frozen yogurt from Menchies Frozen Yogurt.

While you are at The Avenue, be sure to snap a few pictures and share them on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #ShopTheAvenue.  A winner is randomly selected each month to receive a free gift card to a store at The Avenue.

No matter what your kids’ ages or interests, The Avenue certainly has something for everyone.  It will be an easy, one-stop spot for summer entertainment and the perfect way to spend some quality time with your kids!
