Murfreesboro, Tenn. – Does the economic roller coaster have you stressed? The Avenue® Murfreesboro, metro Nashville’s ultimate shopping and dining destination, is now offering visitors a new way to unwind with the opening of The Pottery Place. In addition to creating one-of-a-kind ceramic pottery, the locally-owned paint-your-own-pottery studio allows its customers to make mosaics and fuse glass.

 

Novice potters simply select their ceramic piece. Hundreds of different options are available, including plates, bowls and glassware, as well as mirrors, jewelry and figurines. They then select the colors with which to paint their masterpiece, and start the creation. The Pottery Place staff can help provide inspiration and demonstrate painting techniques, and stencils and stamps are available for beginning artists.

 

“The Pottery Place is the perfect fit for The Avenue’s family-friendly shops and restaurants,” said Angie Carter – general manager, The Avenue Murfreesboro. “It adds an entertainment option that’s great for date night, family outings or a girls’ night out. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful mosaics in our Children’s Park, and then go to The Pottery Place to make a version of their own."

 

Have a group? The Pottery Place offers party packages for children’s birthdays, baby showers and more. It is also the perfect setting to relax after a long day of work, even for the artistically challenged. “I used to visit pottery studios as a refuge from the hectic corporate world,” said Teresa Johnson – owner, The Pottery Place. “I wanted to open a studio at The Avenue, which is already a relaxing atmosphere, to provide the same sort of retreat to Rutherford County."

 

The Pottery Place is open Monday through Saturday, 10 am-9 pm and Sunday, 12-6 pm.
