Atlanta – December 9, 2009 – The Kennesaw Mountain High School “Mustangs” of Kennesaw, Ga. are bringing holiday cheer to more than 230 underprivileged children through the school’s “Shop with a Mustang” program. The program was established in 2004 to help underprivileged elementary and middle school students in West Cobb County ring in the season with a pre-holiday shopping spree. The 2009 event will take place on Saturday, December 12 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

 

The children will each receive a $100 gift card to The Avenue West Cobb for use at its more than 50 national retailers, local boutiques and specialty restaurants, and will team up with Kennesaw Mountain High School students to shop. The gift cards are courtesy of The Avenue and the surrounding community, where students worked to raise money for the program. More than 20 retailers at The Avenue will be providing special discounts for “Shop with a Mustang” participants.

 

“Our students are dedicated to making a difference, and their enthusiasm about the ‘Shop with a Mustang’ program illustrates that commitment,” said Billy Richardson, assistant principal at Kennesaw Mountain High School. “We look forward to continuing our community involvement through future partnerships with The Avenue.”
