Collierville, TN - Rarely do you have the opportunity to have your Christmas photo taken with Santa, Mrs. Claus and Elvis. This past Saturday night, friends and family at The Avenue Carriage Crossing’s Rock n’ Soul Santa Arrival cheered as this legendary trio rolled into the center in a pink 1955 Cadillac.

 

Elvis, played by Danny Spinoza, and the Stax Music Academy Soul Revue filled the night air with classic Christmas hits such as “Here Comes Santa Claus” and “Santa Bring My Baby Back to Me.” The event included free “Soul Train” rides, cookie decorating, face painting and balloon sculptures.

 

In the 10 days leading up to the event, Santa could be tracked on Facebook as he journeyed across the world to Collierville. Photos are still available for viewing on The Avenue’s Facebook page under the “Santa Tracker” tab.

 

This is the second year that the center has brought Santa into town in a not-so-traditional way. Last year, Santa arrived in a monster truck along with cast members from CMT’s “Trick My Truck.” According to Elizabeth Allen, Marketing Manager, “Christmas is such a magical time of year. We want to add to that magic by creating a fun Santa Arrival memory for families to look forward to year after year. I can’t wait to see how he will arrive next year.”
