Shop for a Cause at Altar'd State

Murfreesboro, TN — Some stores just make you feel good. There is always great merchandise, perfect lighting and music that makes you move.

Altar'd State is one of these stores, but in addition to being a feel-good store, it is also a do-good store.

"Almost all of our vendors give back to good causes," said Lacy Waddell, manager of the new store located in the heart of The Avenue Murfreesboro.

The store features on-trend apparel and accessories, bath-and-body products and home goods, plus relevant books and music, all in an upbeat, high-energy environment that promotes confidence and thoughtfulness.

As customers wander the wares, there are products, books, decor and other items that offer inspirational messages and thoughts for purchase or that just offer a positive pay-it-forward outlook.

The store staffs personal shoppers so customers can set up appointments for expert help on fashion advice or selecting a great gift.

But customers can enjoy shopping for themselves and still feel good about helping others as Altar'd State gives back by supporting charitable causes in the community.

Through a company initiative called Mission Mondays, Altar'd State donates 10 percent of proceeds to charity.

The company also looks for similar values in vendor partners. With TOMS Shoes, a new pair of shoes is given to a child in need for every pair purchased. FashionABLE scarves provide sustainable business and a choice to extraordinary women in Ethiopia. Diana Warner-New York offers the Obligato Collection, and each necklace purchased helps provide clean water for 10 people in Africa for a year.

"We are thrilled to bring the unique Altar'd State retail experience to Murfreesboro," said Aaron Walters, Altar'd State's chairman and CEO. "This amazing new store will be the ultimate place for the people of Murfreesboro to shop and feel good about it."
